Well, Webb Simpson beats poor old Chez Reavie and again it’s the product of the lord…Wow!
I can’t believe Chez bogeyed the last! One of the easiest holes of the week! Shows you that there is still a bit of pressure on the PGA Tour. Great effort again from Jason Day… How good is he?!
Couple of good stories this week and I actually like the pressure the Fedex has built! Big Ernie came to the 18th hole needing a birdie to move inside the top 70 and advance to the BMW Championship. Els was up to the challenge, getting up and down for birdie from the left side of the green at the par 5 to squeeze in at No. 68.
Geoff Ogilvy survived an unplayable lie at the 17th hole — making a 20-footer to save par when “I thought it was over at that point” — and then he birdied the 18th hole to move back inside the number at No. 69.
The boys have a week off now and then play the BMW.
There is growing speculation that more American players will tackle the Australian Open prior to Presidents Cup, which is great news… Also on the Australian Open – the interest is so great this year that organisers are now selling Tuesday & Wednesday tickets… never before has this happened! Maybe it has something to do with the massive debt this tournament left the PGA last year!
