THURSDAY
19th September 2024

DAY 1: ARRIVAL JOHANNESBURG

Guests arrive at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport and make their way to the hotel which is located less than 100m safe walking distance in front of the International Arrivals Hall on the lower level of the airport. We can arrange a Meet & Greet service upon request once you have finalised your flight details.

STAY: INTERCONTINENTAL JOHANNESBURG O.R. TAMBO AIRPORT – 5* (1 Night)

(Check in from 14:00 – Luggage can be stored at the hotel for early arrivals)

FRIDAY
20th September 2024

DAY 2: GOLF AT LEOPARD CREEK

After breakfast (included), guests will check-out and walk with their luggage back over to the O.R.Tambo Airport building and head up to Domestic Departures on the 2nd Floor. The hotel will supply airport trolleys for guests to use for their luggage.

FLY: JOHANNESBURG TO KRUGER MPUMALANGA (KMI) AIRPORT (flights not incl)

Guests to make their own bookings for Airlink flight departing at 09h20 & landing at 10h10. Transport

will be provided to Leopard Creek Golf Course for a round of golf before heading to the Lodge.

GOLF: LEOPARD CREEK COUNTRY CLUB

Leopard Creek is, hands down, South Africa’s best wildlife/safari golf experience. The course borders the Kruger National Park, separated by the carving Crocodile River. Owner, developer and South Africa’s riches man, Johann Rupert and his team, have spared no cost in creating one of the lushest and indeed finest playing surfaces in the country.

DAY 3: MORNING AT LEISURE & AFTERNOON SAFARI

MORNING: (ALL) AT LEISURE

Enjoy breakfast (included) overlooking the Crocodile River.

The morning is yours to enjoy at your leisure. You could simply laze around the pool, or take advantage of the many activities offered by the lodge (at your own expense).

AFTERNOON: (ALL) SAFARI KRUGER PARK

This afternoon you will head out on Safari with your Buhala Lodge guide in an open vehicle with an experienced guide in Kruger National Park. The animals that you see in the afternoon, drinking from the waterholes or getting ready for the evening, are often very different from those that are up and about in the morning.

SUNDAY
22nd September 2024

DAY 4: SAFARI & GOLF: LEOPARD CREEK GOLF COURSE

MORNING: (ALL) SAFARI

6:00—11:00 It’s an early start this morning as you head out with your guide on Safari in the Kruger National Park. If you haven’t been to Africa before, then nothing will prepare you for the incredible experience of seeing the African wildlife in their natural environment. Don’t forget your camera!

A packed breakfast will be supplied (included)

AFTERNOON: GOLF AT LEOPARD CREEK

Golfing hazards take on new dimensions at Leopard Creek, for much of the water is home to the magnificent creatures for which the river is named – crocodiles. Extensive use has been made of water features and sightings of crocodiles, hippo, antelope, buffalo and elephants are commonplace, on the course or in the Kruger Park bordering the course.

NON-GOLFERS: AFTERNOON GUIDED SAFARI IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

No two safari excursions are the same as the animals are so unpredictable—perhaps this afternoon you will finally tick off spotting all of the ”Big 5”.

23rd September 2024

DAY 5: DEPART BUHALA & ARRIVE CAPE TOWN

FLY: KMI AIRPORT TO CAPE TOWN (CPT) AIRPORT (flights not included)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Guests are to make their own flight arrangements for the Airlink flight departing at 13h25 and arriving in Cape Town at 16h10.

Group transfer to your Cape Town hotel is included.

DAY 6: GOLF AT CLOVELLY GOLF CLUB OR ROYAL CAPE GOLF COURSE (TBC)

Today we will either play Clovelly Golf Club or Royal Cape Golf Course.

CLOVELLY GOLF CLUB:

Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek in Cape Town lies Clovelly Country Club.

A tight Par 72 with a testing mix of interesting holes and elevated greens accompanied by beautiful views of Silvermine River and lakes.

Natural water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora, notably the variety of trees lining the fairways.

ROYAL CAPE GOLF COURSE:

In the Shadow of Table Mountain lies the Royal Cape Golf Club, South Africa’s oldest golf course, established in 1885. The course is the current host of both the Cape Town Open and the Cape Town Ladies Open, it has also hosted 10 previous South African Opens.

The Par 72 (6,121m) parklands style course is built on relatively flat terrain, exposed to the Cape Doctor, the Cape’s famous persistent and dry south-easterly wind that blows on the coast from spring to late summer (September to March).

NON-GOLFERS: Afternoon at Leisure.

Why not take the opportunity to explore the Victoria & Albert (V&A) Waterfront? This bustling working harbour is filled to the brim with luxury stores, restaurants, art galleries, museums and more. DAY 7: GOLF AT ERINVALE GC & AFTERNOON AT LEISURE

MORNING: GOLF AT ERINVALE GOLF COURSE

The prestigious Erinvale Golf Club belongs with the best in South Africa. Visitors can expect a course in top condition with finely manicured fairways, fast greens and breath taking views of the surrounding mountain, the Winelands and the False Bay coastline. The Gary Player-designed course opened in 1995 and has since established its position amongst the top golfing experiences in South Africa. The course provides an exciting varying layout and offers different views and experiences throughout. The huge green complexes—with subtle contouring and clever positioning of greenside bunkers—are Erinvale’s prize assets.

MORNING: NON-GOLFERS – GUIDED CITY TOUR

This morning you will experience a Half-Day guided city tour of Cape Town which includes the entrance fees to Cape Town’s National Museum which provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of Southern Africa.

AFTERNOON: (ALL) —AT YOUR LEISURE

Relax and enjoy the hotel’s well-appointed amenities including the Camelot Spa with its extensive menu of massage therapies and beauty treatments, work out in the Gym by yourself or with a personal trainer, or do some laps of the pool and reward yourself with a drink at the Pool bar afterwards.

Alternatively, you could continue your exploration of this vibrant city. One option could be to head to Table Mountain to catch the cable car to the summit. Table Mountain is synonymous with Cape Town and is one of the most iconic mountains on earth. It’s one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and, in 1998, Nelson Mandela proclaimed it “a gift to the earth”.

THURSDAY
26th September 2024

DAY 8: CAPE TOWN TO KNYSNA WITH WINE TOUR & LUNCH

After breakfast, the group will depart by coach. On the way to Knysna, we will stop and enjoy a group wine tasting & lunch (included) in the Robertson Valley on Route 62.

Robertson is one of South Africa’s better known wine-producing areas and is associated with the production of rich, fruit-driven red and white wines made most often from the Shiraz and Chardonnay grape varieties, as well as sparkling wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

STAY: PEZULA NATURE HOTEL & SPA – 5* (3 Nights)

DAY 9: GOLF AT SIMOLA GC, ANIMAL PARKS & KNYSNA BOAT CRUISE

MORNING: GOLF AT SIMOLA GOLF CLUB

Keeping your head down at Simola can be a challenge; simply because the views around the course are awe-inspiring, and with this, it is clear to see why Simola takes its place as one of South Africa’s premier golfing destinations. It’s also the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Course on the Garden Route, reflecting the maestro’s philosophy of attuning the layout and design to the natural lie of the land.

MORNING: NON-GOLFERS MONKEY LAND, BIRDS OF EDEN & ELEPHANT PARK

During your tour you will visit 3 different animal sanctuaries where rescued birds and animals are provided care in as close to their natural environment as possible.

Monkeyland – is the worlds first free roaming multi-species primate sanctuary where rescued primates are cared for and provided the opportunity for as natural a life as possible.

Birds Of Eden is an award winning bird sanctuary that provides a forever home where previously caged birds can live a life of free-flight in a habitat as large and natural as is possible. The Sanctuary is home to approx. 3500 birds from 220 different species.

The Knysna Elephant Park was the first facility in South Africa to house and care for orphaned African elephants. Over the last 20 years, the park has cared for and raised more than 40 elephants. There are no fences to spoil the close encounter & the environment encourages

elephants to exhibit natural behaviours.

AFTERNOON: (ALL) BOAT CRUISE

After golf, enjoy a late afternoon boat cruise on the Knysna Estuary. There is no better way to end the day than by enjoying Wine and Oysters on a relaxing boat cruise and taking in the beauty of Knysna as the sun starts to set over the lagoon ending another perfect day in African paradise.

DAY 10: GOLF AT PEZULA CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSE & FAREWELL DINNER

The breathtaking, award-winning course, offers visitors an unsurpassed golf experience and rates amongst the best and the most scenic golf courses in the world. The Clubhouse facilities are in keeping with the overall 5* experience, and includes a terrace with spectacular views, restaurant, bar, golf shop, short game practice area and putting green.

NON GOLFERS: DAY AT LEISURE

DAY 11: BOTELIERSKOP GAME RESERVE & TRANSFER TO FANCOURT

Travel to Botlierskop Game Reserve near Mossel Bay for a 10h00 –12h45 mid-morning guided game drive. Enjoy close encounters with Rhinos, Lions,

Elephants, Buffalo, Cheetah, Giraffe, the Great Black Impala, Golden Wildebeest, Mountain Zebra, Hippos and more! The Game Reserve is 4200ha and comprises over 26 different species of animals and over 200 resident bird species.

LUNCH—a group Lunch is included before heading to Fancourt in the afternoon.

DAY 12: GOLF AT PINNACLE POINT

Overlooking the Indian Ocean near Mossel Bay, and designed by Peter Matkovich and 2011 Open Champion Darren Clarke, Pinnacle Point is one of the most unique & scenic golf courses in the world. The Par 72 layout is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs. All 18 holes have been designed to fit the contours of the land. Pinnacle Point is an exceptionally well balanced golf course that will challenge golfers of all abilities.

According to Darren Clarke Pinnacle Point is “the best golf course on the planet”.

NON-GOLFERS: CANGO CAVES & OSTRICH SHOW FARM TOUR

The Cango Caves is a cultural and natural landmark in South Africa. The 20 million year-old Cango Caves system consists of a series of hidden chambers cut deep into a thick limestone rock layer and is the oldest tourist attraction in SA.

Cango is also home to the Ostrich Show Farm where you will experience a tour of the farm including eggs, incubators and chicks (in season), hand-feeding ostriches and you can even hug or kiss their super friendly Ostrich called Betsie!

DAY 13: GOLF AT FANCOURT OUTENIQUA GOLF COURSE (Lunch at Half-Way House included)

Named after the Mountain that overlooks this magnificent Garden Route golfing gem, the Outeniqua Course at Fancourt is one that barely needs introduction. Of the two parklands courses offered at Fancourt, the Outeniqua is regarded as the easier. Don’t let that fool you however; the Outeniqua has been ranked the No 1 Golf Course in South Africa on a few occasions and presents a true test of golfing with its many risk-and-reward opportunities. The streams and water hazards that come into play on eleven of the holes add exciting shore challenges to the elegant course.

NON-GOLFERS: TWO HOUR SPA TREATMENT OF YOUR CHOICE AT FANCOURT

The Spa at Fancourt is an award-winning spa that draws inspiration from the elements – earth, water, air, and fire – to create a serene atmosphere. DAY 14: GOLF AT FANCOURT LINKS GOLF COURSE—walking course with caddy included.

The Links is currently ranked as the No1 Golf Course in the country by Golf Digest South Africa. The Links is the iconic golfing hallmark of the Fancourt Estate. Golfing legend, Gary Player, described it as his greatest ever feat as a course designer. Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune-style landscape, The Links has hosted some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup (2003), the SA Open (2005) and the 2012 Volvo Golf Champions European Tour.

NON-GOLFERS: OWN ARRANGEMENTS

The hotel’s Leisure Centre offers plenty of things if you wish to spend the day at the hotel. Some of the activities available for guests include an in-house cinema, fully equipped gym, pools, a multicourt, fishing, and leisure trails. Take a leisurely stroll, jog, or bike ride along the 2.5km, 5km or 10km outdoor trails. The Botanical Walk is a trail on offer for plant enthusiasts, where many indigenous plant species can be seen.
