Day 1
18 November 2023

Johannesburg – Tour Starts

Johannesburg is the beating heart of the Rainbow Nation – a vibrant metropolis where more than a dozen different languages are in widespread daily use – including English, thankfully!

After you touch down, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation to rest and then later you can join your tour host for some casual welcome drinks.

HOTEL: Southern Sun Hotel

Day 2
19 November 2023

Johannesburg to Sun City

We could get lost in the rhythm of Johannesburg, but golf is beckoning, so today we’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for Sun City. Along the way
we’ll have the opportunity to take in the local sights and stop for local food.

Tonight we check in to the spectacular Cascades Hotel and get the opportunity to have a decadent welcome over dinner.

HOTEL: Cascades Sun City

Day 3
20 November 2023

Sun City – Golf at Lost City

At last – golf! And what better way to start things off than with the iconic Lost City.

An 18-hole desert-style golf course that is surrounded by spectacular views across the bushveld. The 72-par course has live 2-metre long crocodiles on the 13th hole with a green in the shape of the African continent. This makes it one of the most unusual, exciting and interesting golf courses in the world!

Non-Golfers will be taken on a guided game drive through Plainsberg National Park to see the iconic animals of this continent on their home turf.

Day 4
21 November 2023

Sun City – Golf at the Gary Player Country Club

A new day offers a new experience for our golfers as they get to play one of the most prestigious courses on the continent: the Gary Player Country Club.

An 18-hole par-72 walking course, with a 5km running trail along the course. It is also home to the 2023 Nedbank Golf Challenge, part of the European Tour’s
Race to Dubai, which plays host to some of the world’s golfing legends.

Non-Golfers will visit the Segaetsho Cultural Village and learn about the Tswana and Zulu cultures, with traditional song and dance performances!

Dinner is at leisure.

Day 5
22 November 2023

Sun City to Gqerbha (Port Elizabeth)

We breakfast at the Cascades one last time before bidding farewell to Sun City and boarding our transfer back to Johannesberg for our internal flight to Gqerbha (Port Elizabeth).

A coastal town, get ready for fun in the sun as we check in to the Boardwalk Hotel. Known for being a premium destination for dining and entertainment, it boasts the only licensed casino in the whole city and some of the best restaurants for miles.

It’s no coincidence this evening is at your leisure…

HOTEL: The Boardwalk Hotel

Day 6
23 November 2023

Gqerbha (Port Elizabeth) – Golf at St Francis Links

Take your pick of any of the restaurants for breakfast, and prepare to be whisked away to St Francis Links, host of the 87th PGA Championship.

St Francis Links is a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. The Golden Bear, rated by many as the greatest golfer of all time, said St Francis Links may well be “…the best golf course I have ever seen”. Need we say more?

Non-Golfers are treated to a tour of the iconic Cape Recife Lighthouse, Grysbok Reserve and finishing up with a gently thrilling 4×4 tour.

Dinner is your choice!

Day 7
24 November 2023

Gqerbha (Port Elizabeth) to Kariega Game Reserve

We thank Gqerbha for showing us such a good time, and after breakfast we’ll be off to the next destination: Kariega Game Reserve. Checking in to the Main Lodge, we finally have an opportunity to see what most come to this continent for: the wildlife.

Before dinner we’ll be taken on a sunset game drive – hear the calls of predators and their prey, see where they live in the wild and hopefully spot one! Hearing a
lion’s roar is a primal experience that sends shivers down the spine, to behold an elephant is to understand your place in the food chain. It’s a bucket list experience.

HOTEL: Kariega Lodge

Day 8
25 November 2023

Kariega Game Reserve

The beasts of the wild are most active at dawn and dusk, and so today we’ll be making the most of that which our accommodation is renowned for and after
breakfast we’ll be going on a game drive in the cool of the morning, just before the sun rises. Enjoy the lion’s share of your day at leisure and avail yourself of the
lodge’s many amenities before we regroup for another game drive at sunset followed by dinner. You’ll need a steady hand for photos in the low light – but some of the best memories are those you see with your eyes, not through a lens.

Day 9
26 November 2023

Kariega Game Reserve to Knysna

Safari bingo card not full yet? This morning, before the sun sinks it’s teeth into the land, we’ll depart on our final game drive. Before we know it, we’ll be back on the road – but the animal encounters aren’t over yet as we stop in at Knysna Elephant Park to come face-to-face with the largest land mammals on the planet. After a day so loaded with wild thrills you’ll find yourself delivered to Simola Hotel to rest before an evening at leisure.

HOTEL: Simola Hotel

Day 10
27 November 2023

Knysna – Golf at Simola Golf Club

Our hotel will provide us with breakfast before the golfers take off to explore the beautiful Simola Golf Club.

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course was designed by the legend himself and, as the first on the continent and still only one of three in Africa, remains a favourite amongst professionals, seasoned players and those who enjoy a challenging yet fun game.

Non-Golfers will enjoy a guided tour of Knysna to Plettenbergbay, stopping in at the Birds of Eden and Monkeyland sanctuaries.

After golf, get ready for a late afternoon pleasure cruise along the Knysna Estuary. Let the riverbanks and all it’s wildlife throw its arms around you as we glide along before coming to rest for dinner along the waterfront.

Day 11
28 November 2023

Knysna to George

Today we start on the final leg of our journey after a comfortably unhurried breakfast.

We’ll arrive at Fancourt before another transfer arrives… to whisk us away to Montaqu Pass for a wine tasting and picnic at Herold Wine Farm. Galileo Gallilei once said “Wine is sunlight held together by water,” – where better to enjoy it than the sunlit slope of Cradock Peak, highest crest of the Outeniqua Mountain Range.

After lunch you’ll be taken back to the hotel and the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

HOTEL: Fancourt

Day 12
29 November 2023

George – Golf at The Links, Fancourt

The Links is a private course ranked as number 1 in the country and ranks highly on the global golfing stage, and after breakfast it’s just a short stroll away!

Golfing legend Gary Player described it as his greatest ever feat as a course designer. Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune-style landscape, the course is the handiwork of Gary Player, course designer Phil Jacobs and Fancourt owner Dr. Hasso Plattner.

Non-Golfers have an equally exciting day ahead, with a trip to Oudtshoorn to visit the truly spectacular Cango Caves followed by an Ostrich Show Farm Tour.

Tonight is at leisure – explore together or thrillseek solo!

HOTEL: Fancourt

Day 13
30 November 2023

George – Golf at Montagu Golf Course

How do we cap off this splendid golfing trip? With another course just a short stroll from the accommodation – Montagu Golf Course.

A Gary Player design, the Montagu Course is regarded as among the finest parkland courses in the country. Every club in your bag is necessary for this layout – but it’s as fun as it is challenging!

Non-Golfers have the day off! With the day at your leisure you can choose to explore the city, hunt down memorable souvenirs and relax.

Tonight we come together for an awards presentation and farewell dinner, toasting to our journey and bidding farewell to each other and this magical country.

Day 14
1 December 2023

George to Home

Today we say our goodbyes – both to each other and to the Rainbow Nation as we are transferred to the airport for our onwards flights.

Keep an eye out for your Post-Tour pack in the mail!
