Perched high on Mont Agel nearly 900 metres above sea level, the Monte-Carlo Golf Club offers one of the most spectacular settings in European golf. Built in 1911 for members of the Monégasque aristocracy, the course is laid out over steep, rocky terrain; nine holes overlook the Mediterranean Sea and nine holes face the snow-capped Alpine peaks. The fairways follow the natural contours of the mountain, resulting in numerous elevation changes, sloping lies and dog-legs.
