The Montagu is Fancourt's championship parkland course. Originally laid out by Gary Player in 1992 as part of a 27-hole complex, it was extended to eighteen holes in 1997 and substantially upgraded by David McLay Kidd in 2004, adding 430 metres to the length. A further 2018 remodel by Gary Player increased landing areas and resurfaced the greens while removing punitive bunkering.
The Montagu features broad fairways framed by lush vegetation and trees with a river that meanders through the property and comes into play on several holes. Unlike the Outeniqua, the Montagu's two nines both return to the clubhouse, making it more traditional in routing. Water hazards influence the closing holes; the par-3 17th requires a full carry over a lake, while the 18th is a reachable par-5 where the green is guarded by water on three sides.
