First day on the 2016 Masters tour and we are at the Pinehurst Resort. We started with a fantastic buffet breakfast, accompanied by a pianist on a grand piano! It sure beats listening to the radio over your weetbix.
Fortunately, the rain that started in the morning cleared just in time for us to play the new course at Pinehurst, No.9, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The course was in great condition, with wide fairways, tall pines, lakes and stream ways. Today’s winners were John Mathewson (Mt Maunganui GC NZ) with 36 points and Mike King (Pymble GC) runner up with 34. The Ladies competition was won by Robyn Cockburn (Manly GC) and Runner up was Beverly Anderson (Beverley Park GC).
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s golf at Pinehurst No.8!
