Arabella Golf Club
- South Africa
Facilities
Arabella Golf Club lies on the southern shore of the Bot River Lagoon in the Western Cape. Opened in 1999, the Peter Matkovich design blends parkland and links elements with spectacular mountain and lagoon views. The land slopes gently from the hotel down toward the water; each nine opens by climbing away from the resort before descending back to the lagoon for dramatic finishing holes. The course is consistently ranked among South Africa's top-10 layouts.
Arabella's fairways are lined with indigenous trees and the routing takes advantage of the lagoon. The par-5 8th on the front nine slopes downhill to a green surrounded by wetlands, while the par-3 17th plays alongside the water with the prevailing wind off the lagoon. The finishing hole doglegs right around the shoreline and requires a brave second shot over water to a green tucked beside the lagoon.
