Itinerary

Day 1
15th October

Make your way to the Westin Grande Hotel for the first 3 nights of the tour.

STAY: The Westin Grande Hotel, Convention Square, Lower Long Street, Cape Town 8000

Deluxe Room on a Bed & Breakfast basis (Check in from 14:00 – Luggage can be stored at the hotel for early arrivals)

Memorable experiences await at The Westin Grande Cape Town. Enjoy exclusive rooms with unique views over the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Table Mountain and the whole of Table Bay. Each of the guest rooms are elegantly appointed and boast the latest amenities for guests’ total comfort and rejuvenation. Day 2
16th October

Game of golf at Erinvale Golf Course, including Carts.

One of the jewels of Cape Winelands golf, Erinvale is a ‘must play’ golf course nestled at the foot of the Helderberg mountains, with sweeping views of the Winelands and False Bay coastline. The Gary Player designed course was opened in 1995 by “the Master himself” and since established its position amongst the top golfing experiences in the Western Cape. The course has an interesting and varied layout, and the back nine must be considered amongst the best in the country.

Day 3
17th October

Game of golf at De Zalze Golf Course, including Carts. 

The De Zalze Golf Course situated within the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate was designed by Peter Matkovich (course architect for Leopard Rock, Arabella & Pinnacle Point amongst others) who made the most of the stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy. The course has an excellent mix of parkland holes with its main challenges presented in the form of the water features on several holes, as well as the Oak tree lined Blaauwklippen River which winds its way through the Golf Estate and comes into play at various intervals.

Return to the hotel after days activities.

Day 4
18th October

Early breakfast at your hotel before checking out.

Full day transferring to The Fancourt Resort Hotel, with a stop off at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve for a game drive and lunch.

(Game drive departure at 14:00 for approximately 3 hours)

With the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains as a backdrop and sweeping views out over the glistening Indian ocean below, lies Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. This gracious family-owned and privately-operated game reserve is malaria-free and home to four of the Big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo and rhino) as well as a host of antelope, including rare black impala, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo and more.

After the safari and lunch, the group will continue on to The Fancourt Hotel in George, arriving at approximately 18:30

Morning game of golf at Pinnacle Point, including Carts. Tee-Off at 09h30

Overlooking the Indian Ocean near Mossel Bay, and designed by Peter Matkovich and 2011 Open Champion, Darren Clarke, Pinnacle Point is one of the most unique and scenic golf courses in the world.

This Clifftop Fynbos Golf Course inspires the golfer to play this challenging layout with a level of respect due to its dramatic views and breathtaking terrain. The 72 par layout is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs, four of which are played over ocean and cliff. All 18 holes have been designed to fit the contours of the land.

Pinnacle Point is an exceptionally well-balanced golf course, that will challenge the most talented golfer, However, as a result of a minimum of five tee boxes per hole, it allows the average golfer to enjoy their round of golf and perhaps post a personal best score on “The best golf course on the planet” (Darren Clarke).

Lunch at the halfway house is included. – Drinks at own cost.

Return to the hotel in the mid afternoon.

Non Golfers: Catamaran Cruise on Knysna Lagoon (Based on a minimum of 2 participants) Exclusive sailing on Knysna Lagoon, through the world-famous heads out into the Indian Ocean on a luxury catamaran yacht, “Heads Explorer”. With only the sound of the wind in the sails and water lapping against the bow, your experience skipper will take you on a magical sailing experience. On your return, time at leisure enjoying the Knysna Quays shopping area. This shopper’s paradise has the perfect gift for everybody from books to boutiques, clothing to curios. GOLF: Play 18 holes @ Fancourt Links Golf Course –  walking course with caddy fee included.

The Links is currently ranked as the number one golf course in the country by Golf Digest South Africa. It also ranks 38th in Golf Digest US edition’s list of the world’s 100 greatest golf courses. The Links is the iconic golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. Golfing legend Gary Player described it as his greatest ever feat as a course designer. Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune-style landscape, The Links has hosted some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup (2003), the SA Open (2005) and the 2012 Volvo Golf Champions European Tour. Inspired by the famous links courses of the British Isles, The Links is considered a masterpiece.

Non Golfers: Enjoy a visit to Birds of Eden and Monkeyland

Birds of Eden is home to some 220 different types of birds, and more than 3500 birds live in the sanctuary. The award-winning bird sanctuary provides forever homes where previously caged bides can live a life of free-flight in a habitat as large and natural as possible. The feathered inhabitants of the aviary are comprised of a mixture of exotic, as well as African birds.

Exquisitely conditioned to provide a riveting golfing experience, this tree-lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land.

Non Golfers — This morning you will enjoy a 2 hour luxury Spa Package at the Fancourt Spa

After golf, the group will transfer to Pezula Hotel

Day 9
23rd October

GOLF: Play 18 holes of Golf @ Simola Golf Course including Share Cart

Keeping you head down at Simola can be a challenge; simply because the views around the course are awe-inspiring, and with this, it is clear to see why Simola takes its place as one of South Africa’s premier golfing destinations. It’s also the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Course on the Garden Route, reflecting the maestro’s philosophy of attuning the layout and design to the natural lie of the land. The course offers challenging and rewarding golf amidst spectacular scenery. Set below the high ridges, it’s free from the wind that so often plagues coastal courses. It’s par for the course that every hole boasts exceptional views; either out across the Knysna Lagoon all the way to the heads or over the picturesque Knysna River as it twists and turns through the valley below.
